Mary J. Krueger is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (#180-000191) and Nationally Certified Group Therapist with over 20 years experience with a wide variety of concerns such as: anxiety, divorce, learning difficulties, family issues, adoption, mental illness, chronic illness, sexual orientation, life stress, grief and loss - among others.
Mary completed her doctoral candidate work with research emphasis was on adult adoptees experience and struggles with searching for their birth origins. Her doctoral specialty comps were published as a theoretical article on adoptees: Jago Krueger, MJ & Hanna, F (1997). "Why adult adoptees search" Journal of Counseling and Development.
Mary received her Masters degree in 1989 when she began practicing individual and group psychotherapy. In 1991 she began supervising Masters Level clinical interns. She still functions as a Clincal Supervisor and provides professional training for other future supervisors.
Mary has also served as adjunct faculty member at various local colleges and universities. In addition to her clinical work, supervision and teaching, Mary has also consulted with small businesses on personnel and operational issues.
Mary is currently president of the Illinois Group Psychotherapy Society. She is also actively involved with the national parent organization, American Group Psychotherapy Association.
